COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces the following Buckle Up, South Carolina, event:

Who: South Carolina Department of Public Safety, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Region 4 representative, local law enforcement representatives and motorist who was saved by the belt

What: Discuss Memorial Day weekend travel/Buckle Up, South Carolina, enforcement campaign including Scout 175 Sportfish boat giveaway (boat will be present at the news event then later moved to Harbison-area Wal-Mart for registration event from 12-1:30 p.m.)

When: 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22

Where: SCDPS Criminal Justice Academy firing/driving range, 5400 Broad River Road, turn onto Geology Road, follow to the range (officer will direct media to the location)
